Spencer Garrett, PRC General Partner - Managing Partner
Spencer is a fourth generation Venturan who, with his brother Scott, began developing the PRC in 1975.
A graduate of Pomona College (B.A. Mathematics) and Northwestern University (MBA), Spencer taught high school
and then served as a US Naval Officer prior to starting the PRC. He has been actively involved with the
Boys & Girls Club of Ventura, United Way of Ventura County, The Ventura Music Festival, Interface Children Family
Services and the Museum of Ventura County. He is also a former board member of IHRSA,
The International Health Racquet & Sportsclub Association. Married to Nancy with two children, Cameryn and Cory,
his hobbies include golf, basketball, tennis and traveling.
Scott Garrett, PRC General Partner
Scott is a fourth generation Venturan who, with his brother Spencer, began developing the PRC in 1975.
Scott served six years in the Navy with training in nuclear power and electrical engineering.
His service included a year in Antarctica. Scott attended the University of Utah. In 1983, Scott moved to
Albuquerque where he oversaw the development and later sale of PRC's 5 sister clubs. He has been actively
involved with the issue of unfair competition both on a local and national level. Married to Pam with three boys,
Christopher, Sean and Evan, his hobbies include squash and mountain biking.
Kerrie Anderson, Club Manager and Wellness Director
Kerrie is a native Californian. She graduated from Cal State Long Beach
with a B.A. in Physical Education/Exercise Physiology. She is Certified
in Community Fitness with a minor emphasis in Business. She is also a
Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor. She has been in the fitness industry
since 1976 and has been a part of the PRC since 1986. She is married and
has two children. Her hobbies and special interests are running, water
sports, gardening and physical fitness and sports for children.
Kati Escallier, Assistant Manager/Membership Director
Kati Escallier was born in Budapest, Hungary and came to America as a small child with her parents and two sisters.
She studied art at Santa Monica City College, then went on to pursue a career in fashion after
attending the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. Kati then started a design and manufacturing
business in women's swimwear and sportswear that was featured in the Sports Illustrated annual swimwear issue.
She moved from Santa Monica to Ventura 19 years ago with her husband, Gerry, and her two children, Krisztina and
Thomas. Wanting a positive and fun place for herself and her family, Kati started working part time as Pro Shop Manager
at the Pierpont Racquet Club while her children were young. Now Kati is enjoying full time work as Membership Director
and Assistant Manager at the PRC along with playing on Interclub and USTA teams at the Club.
She enjoys also walking, art and singing.
Laurie Lowder, Bookkeeper
Laurie Lowder was born and raised in Ventura and has lived here most of
her life. She graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in
Business Management with a concentration in Financial Management. Laurie
has worked in the hospitality industry at the Pierpont Inn for the last
12 years. She has a husband, Trevor, and loves to spend time with her
family, which includes six nieces and nephews. Laurie enjoys pilates,
rollerblading, and going to Dodger games.
Nancy Garrett, Special Projects Advisor
Nancy was born in Berkely and moved to Ventura at age 5. She graduated from UC San Diego (B.A. Sociology) and
has a California Teaching Credential from USIU. Nancy began working for the PRC in 1978 and has served as
Swim Director, Service Desk Manager and Assistant Manager. She now works part-time at the PRC in Human
Resources while being involved full-time with Cameryn & Cory, volunteering in their schools as well as for other
civic organizations.
DaLauna Lipp, Aerobic Director
DaLauna was born in Holbrook, Arizona. She moved to Ventura in 1977. She
met her husband at Bringham Young University and has two children, Gary,
26, and Jennifer, 21. She has been teaching aerobics for 24 years. She is
AFAA Certified, a certified personal trainer, Fitness Counselor Senior Fit
Instructor, kickboxing instructor, yoga fit instructor and a Certified Water
Aerobics instructor. Her hobbies include sewing, reading and dancing.
Donna Ledford, Service Desk Manager
Donna Ledford was born in Ventura and raised in the San Joaquin Valley
with her six siblings (she's a famer's daughter). She now has two girls
of her own: Cassie and Raya. Prior to the PRC Donna
worked 2 1/2 years as the Front Desk Supervisor at the Embassy Suites
at Mandalay Bay and priot to that, she spent seven years managing the front
desk at St. Stanislaus Golf Course. She also has 24 years of food service
experience. Donna enjoys playing golf and softball. She recently was inspired
to take up tennis and she would describe herself as a "beach bum" because
she finds it a wonderful place to relax and hang out.
Dennis Jenks, Courtside Cafe Manager
Dennis Jenks is a fourth generation resident of Ojai, an avid surfer and
tennis player. A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo he also has spent
more than 25 years in restaurant management. Dennis was the Service Desk
and Assistant Manager at the PRC in the late 90's. He is excited to return
"home" and looks forward to reaquainting himself with old friends and
making new ones. He has two kids, Ashley, 23 years old, and Brendon, 21
years old.
Angela Moore, Child Care Director
Angela grew up in Auburn California, the oldest of six children. After graduating from high school,
Angela spent five years in the US Navy as a diesel mechanic stationed in Puerto Rico,
Sasebo and Okinawa, Japan and Port Hueneme. While studying in San Jose, Angela worked
for the City of San Jose as an inclusion aid for autistic children and as an ESL tutor
for children ages 5 to 10. Currently she resides in Ventura with Thomas Brinkhoff and
their child Madison. Besides running the child care department, she is working on her
Masters's degree in English at Northridge. Angie has few hours of spare time, but when
she does she likes to knit and sew, read, and play tennis.
Tania Hoff, Human Resources
Tania Hoff is a Ventura native. Although she has lived in many of California's great cities, including
San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, she has always felt the need to return home to Ventura.
She graduated from Ventura High School, studied at Ventura College, and graduated from the University
of California, Santa Barbara with a double major in English Literature and Education. She now has
a husband and two sons to keep her occupied and happy here in Ventura. She is excited to be working
at the Pierpont Racquet Club.
Greg Haywood, Tennis Director
Greg Haywood was born in England and grew up in Vancouver Canada. He was
a top ten junior player in Canada and also played many other sports seriously.
Greg played professional soccer in Europe for 4 years after graduating
from high school and continued to play semi pro soccer for 14 more years.
He has been coaching tennis part time since 1983 and full time since 2000.
He is a USPTR Professional category coach as well as a graduate of the
USTA High Performance Course. He continues to complete course work each
year and is involved in professional development with High Performance.
He has a Bachelor of Education with 12 years of high school teaching experience.
He has been featured in International Tennis Magazines as an instructor
on 3 occasions and has written coaching manuals.
Thu Huynh, Martial Arts Director
Thu was born in Saigon, Vietnam. He has lived in Ventura for most of his life. He is a
graduate of Cal State Northridge with a B.S. in Business Management. Thu began working
for the PRC in 1993. In 1997, he began PRC's popular Tae Kwon Do Karate program for
juniors and adults. He is married to Nicole and has two daughters, Abigail and Olivia.
His hobbies include Tae Kwon Do (in which he has won a national title), tennis, surfing and basketball.
Jeff Ross, Racquetball Director
Jeff, a native Californian, was one of the PRC's first group of employees.
He later left for a career in the computer industry, but recently realized
his mistake and high tailed it back to the Club for a second time. He
also sells real estate, loves mountain biking, fishing, racquetball (naturally)
and writing his personal bios.
