Rona Gonzalez

Rona Gonzalez was born in Oregon; however her family moved to Pasadena, California when she was six months old, therefore she believes she is a native Californian. Rona has been a swimmer most of her life. She grew up in her grandmother's pool and continued at the City of Los Angeles Yosemite Park pool where she was a part of the junior swim team competing against the entire L.A. City Pool Organization. Rona was also one of the first competitors in a new sport, "water ballet" which was later revised to synchronized swimming. During college she worked for the City of Pasadena and private camps as a lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor (W.S.I). After college Rona entered the world of business and accounting became her new profession; however, her love of swimming lured her back, and in 2004 she re-certified and taught for the City of Ventura. She continues to work as treasurer and as a Youth Leader at United Methodist Church in Ventura while also working part time as Aquatics Director at the PRC. Rona has participated in several mission trip leadership teams taking youth to various places including Mexico. She is married to Jesse and has two daughters, Sara and Camille. Rona enjoys watching her favorite basketball team, the Lakers, and spending time with friends and family.
